Build a studio workspace before creating an account

Who this is for

Studio owners deciding whether PositiveForm fits, who want to see their own studio in it before committing to anything.

Required access: none. This workflow deliberately has no sign-in step.

Before you begin

• Nothing to set up, and no account to create.
• Work in one browser on one device. The workspace belongs to that browser until you save it, so it will not follow you to your phone.
• Use made-up student details. Sample members take a first and last name only; contact details, birth dates, guardian links, health, and emergency data need a saved workspace, and PositiveForm will ask you to save before it accepts any.

Steps

1. Open /setup. Set up your studio in the real workspace explains that no login or plan is required and that this browser receives revocable access to one isolated draft.
2. Select Start setting up your studio. PositiveForm creates the workspace at this point, not when the page loads.
3. Work through the setup sections: Where you teach for locations, What you teach for programs and their class times, and Your belt or level ladder for the steps students move through.
4. Fill in Studio profile with the studio name, phone, time zone, address, and logo shape. It saves as you type, and Save studio details saves it on demand; the line beside the button reads Saved to this browser.
5. Under Try a few sample members, enter a fictional first and last name and click Add to see rosters and ranks populated. Remove takes one off.
6. Watch the checklist as you go. It tracks what a working studio still needs, so you can stop at any point and see how far along you are.
7. Click Save your progress whenever you are ready; it is offered in the header throughout, and PositiveForm also offers it on its own when your progress or a limit makes it worth keeping. The panel names the reason and asks you to verify an email. Keep exploring dismisses it.

Safe until you save lists what an unowned draft cannot do at all: protected contact, child, health, and emergency data; staff or family invitations and portal publishing; email, SMS, voice, and active automations; and payments, imports, API keys, webhooks, and integration secrets.

Expected outcome

The studio you built is still there after a reload in the same browser, with its locations, programs, class times, ranks, and sample members intact. It is badged Not saved yet, No plan, and Secured to this browser. Saving your progress turns it into a real organization tied to your account and opens it in the console; until then it stays a draft that only this browser can reach.

Recovery

• If the page reports that draft setup is unavailable, the environment you are on has not been configured to provision workspaces. Nothing you can do in the browser will get past it; the studio must be created from an account instead (ONB-001). This is the state the deployed demo is in, reported to PositiveForm support against this story.
• If the start page warns that this browser is blocking site storage, setup still works in that tab, but the draft cannot be reconnected after a refresh. Allow storage for the site, or save your progress before closing the tab. A normal (non-private) window is the usual fix.
• If the page says this browser cannot securely create a studio workspace, the browser is missing the cryptography the workflow needs. Use a current browser.
• If your studio is missing after a reload, the browser discarded its storage. A draft cannot be recovered once that happens; save your progress earlier next time to keep it.
• If a limit stops you adding another location, program, class time, progression, or sample member, that is the deliberate ceiling on an unsaved workspace, not a fault. Save your progress to continue.
• If PositiveForm says email verification is not configured in this environment, saving is unavailable there and the workspace stays bound to your browser. The studio must be created from an account instead (ONB-001).
• If you want the studio gone, use Start over rather than clearing browser data, so the workspace is revoked on the server too. It confirms first.
